There’s working in your business.
There’s working on your business.
But is there a third dimension… above it?

I talked with Bradley Hamner recently about exactly that. Bradley was running team meetings during a family vacation at Disney World. Laptop open, captioning his Instagram photo, “Better never stops—even on vacation.”

Two months later, he was at a cardiologist’s office.

“I was just pissed off, honestly. And I was like, no more. Never again. I’m not doing this anymore.”

That was the turning point for his health (thankfully!), but also for how he saw himself as a business owner.

He stopped being the operator.
And started becoming the architect.

Bradley stopped seeing himself as just the operator and started thinking like the architect of his business. But it wasn’t about roles; it was about identity.

I've had my share of "no more" moments, but usually around overdue decisions. Bradley’s story is different and gave me some new perspective.
