Alpha School's Full Zag | LinkedIn Profile Makeover | The Golden Thread

The Golden Thread

Clear Vision → Clear Priorities → Clear Path

Everything Gets Redesigned Eventually

Last week Kelly and I went to an Alpha School showcase.

And I appreciated it for reasons I wasn’t expecting.

Alpha School is a fascinating concept.

Self-paced learning. AI feedback loops. Mastery instead of memorization.

All very important to us.

But what really caught our attention is this:

It’s a school built around:

- appealing to kids,

- how they learn best, and

- making good use of their time.

That’s not just a tweak to the old model.

That’s a full zag while the rest of education keeps zigging.

It’s so easy to complain about how the education system is - whatever.

Alpha built an alternative.

They’re just doing it.

It’s entrepreneurship at its finest.

They saw a broken system and designed a better one.

That’s what every business owner has to do.

We’re all surrounded by systems that could use an update.

Old ways of working, leading, and learning.

The opportunity is there for anyone willing to question those systems

and build something better.

Alpha is redesigning how students learn.

👉🏻That’s what Elon is doing for space travel and electric vehicles.

👉🏻That’s what Daniel Wakefield is doing for headshots, redesigning how professionals are seen.

👉🏻That’s what Natasha Walstra does for LinkedIn, redesigning how founders become visible and trusted (More on Natasha BELOW 👇🏻)

👉🏻And that’s what I’m doing for business ownership with Redesigned.Business, reshaping how founders see, think, and operate, so their business grows because they do.

Different industries. Same principle.

See problem >>> Create better solution.

That’s entrepreneurship.
Whether you’re reinventing schools, industries, or just your own way of doing business.

Speaking of Natasha:

She Got Me Out of Hiding on LinkedIn 😀

Natasha Walstra put my LinkedIn profile (👆🏻) through a makeover, and it's already working.

It’s only been a couple of weeks, but here's what I can tell you:

#1: I'm proud of my profile.

Before, I didn't give it much thought (other than I loved the headshot Daniel Wakefield took for me).

Now though, not only do I care more about my LinkedIn profile, I understand it much better.

And I'm proud of it. I used to think that meant vanity.

It doesn't. Not when it's your brand.

When it's your brand, you'd better be proud of it.

#2: Its working.

(Current estimates) Impressions are up ~2x, engagement’s up, and I'm getting new followers faster than normal. The increase in engagement and new followers has been noticeable. The increase in impressions has really stood out.

If you haven't seen the new profile yet, check it out:

And if you want to learn what’s actually working on LinkedIn right now, Natasha’s hosting a free workshop this Thursday:

She has my attention.

The Golden Thread business alignment ↔ leadership ↔ strategy ↔ systems If You Are the System, You Are a Bottleneck Last week I was on a call with a client who swore he didn’t have an operations problem. ‘We’ve got systems for everything,’ he’s telling me. ‘The issue is people not following them.’ So I asked him to walk me through his week. By Tuesday afternoon, he had personally approved four invoices, fielded a hiring question, fixed a client’s onboarding form, and rewritten a team email...
