Differently Better?

I let my guests use my business as the crash-test dummy.

This week positioning strategist Joe Daniels put my advisory offer through his four-part Point of View Canvas and found the cracks fast.

First punch:
“Being better blends in. Being different can miss. You have to be differently better.”

Instant headline rewrite.

Then he said...

1️⃣ Your niche isn’t a demographic - it's marriage-material traits you'd fight to keep.
Don't think clarity is about who you'd work with. It's not.

It's about who you'd regret losing.

2️⃣ Differentiation isn't shouting louder.
Most coaches sound the same. Joe’s test: can you name why your difference actually matters?

3️⃣ Your problem isn't working harder - it's the hamster wheel itself.
You're optimizing what should be replaced.

4️⃣ Positioning is a filter, not a tagline.
If your prospects still hesitate, your messaging isn’t clear. It’s muddying the water.

5️⃣ Great positioning stings before it clarifies.
If you're comfortable, you're probably blending in. Step into discomfort to get seen clearly.

…Joe’s workshop will sting a little and clarify a lot.

The Tree Model for Delegation

This is the simplest guide I've seen for delegation. I mean, look at the picture 😅

But there's a bigger lesson embedded in it...

Delegating authority is different from delegating tasks.

Check out the Tree Model.

Nick Berry and Tara Landes discuss small business operations

The Golden Thread business design // leadership // strategy // systems Hiring Yourself Out of the C-Suite Most founders fantasize about stepping back without watching the wheels fall off. Tara Landes actually did it. She built Bellrock past seven figures, groomed a successor for eight years, handed over every key… then slid into the hands-on work she loves. No crash. No chaos. Her secret isn’t charisma. It’s administration. Budgets, dashboards, repeatable processes—the “overhead” most owners...
